Compensation
Expect a base hourly rate ranging from $ $32.69 depending on experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in research, voter protection, organizing, or communications with a political organization. The ideal candidate will have developed core research or communications competencies. This is not an academic research position.
Excellent writer with strong attention to detail and the ability to write well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering professionally written communication to multiple audiences.
Cultural competence and a strong understanding of how voter suppression impacts communities of color.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and deal with multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently but know when and how to ask for help.
Strong excel and Microsoft office skills.
Competence with basic excel functions, including, but not limited to, xlookup, filters, and counts, and an interest in growing this skillset.
Commitment to electing Democrats, creating progressive change, and supporting voting rights.Candidates must be able to work additional hours beyond the normal schedule as required, especially around relevant election dates or filing periods.
Essential Job FunctionsMonitor and analyze legislation, regulations, and administrative actions. You will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing and summarizing legislation, state regulations, and other changes to election law. This may include watching hearings, reading legislation, analyzing meeting minutes, and more. You will be responsible for creating daily, action-oriented deliverables based on your analysis.
This position is a hybrid position and is required to be in the office 3 days a week.
Media monitoring and other tracking. Conduct media monitoring and other tracking of developments related to voting.
Research and analysis. You will be responsible for intaking information from various sources to identify key information, trends, and actionable insights.
Manage up.
Be able to exercise strong judgement to determine information that should be elevated and be able to effectively communicate the information to a diverse set of stakeholders.
Use data effectively. Incorporate data analysis into your overall assessment, and approach problems from a position informed by data.Adhere to and respect firm confidentiality.
Position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Position requires that the employee be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
