- On-site EHS, Policy & Practice Administration/Support: 100% of the Job
- Provide leadership to advance initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees. Provide direct supervision of assigned multimarket staff
- Develop, deploy, and monitor all EHS programs, procedures, policies, and standards in a manner that ensures compliance to Federal, State, Local, Customer and Corporate requirements
- Provide focus, direction, leadership, and technical expertise to advise and train managers and supervisors on their roles and responsibilities in the EHS program
- Administer the root cause analysis procedure designed to identify hazards in the workplace and develop best practices
- Assess, track, and analyze EHS performance to identify risks and establish recommendations to alleviate hazards and leverage opportunities
- Stimulate and cultivate a zero-harm, opportunity-driven mentality throughout the organization. We believe that every accident is preventable
- Drive continuous improvement in our safety culture while working towards exceeding site-specific safety goals
- Participation in the Company Safety Council activities and projects. Transfer safety SOPs, procedures, and processes to market activities
- Conduct annual OSHA-required training and certifications throughout CTB
- Advise and train direct multimarket staff on their roles and responsibilities in the Safety program
- Manages Workers' Comp process, to include return to work with restrictions in conjunction with HR Generalist
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience:5 years of experience handling all facets of EH&S for a multi-site manufacturing organization.
- Certification(s): CSP or ASP highly desired
- Functional Skills: Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Extensive experience and prior knowledge of OSHA guidelines and compliance area required.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Experienced with technology and equipment used in environmental inspections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written skillset; able to present and train team members on new safety policies. Able to communicate with various levels of the organization, including Plant/Operations Managers.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Demonstrates a high customer-service and support personality who has a strength in educating others towards best practices; forward thinking and resourceful to ensure processes are handled smoothly and effectively, ability to handle matters in a timely manner, is self-directed and can work well within an established set of guidelines. .

- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Ability to sit at desk for 5+ hours per day
- Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen for majority of day 6-7 hours
- Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow for 5+ hours per day
- Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis daily due to nature of the work, throughout the day
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and computer on-going
- Ability to listen to customers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull, walk, stoop, crouch, and carry items frequently
- Lifting up to 15 lbs. sporadically
- The employee is primarily exposed to a normal office environment with moderate noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments.
- This position may face inclement weather conditions when traveling.
- Travel: Limited; no travel is required
