- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the diesel shop, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of diesel mechanics and technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections on diesel engines and related systems to identify issues and determine appropriate repair procedures
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and preventative services on diesel engines, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards
- Manage inventory and order necessary parts and supplies to support shop operations
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inventory, utilizing computer applications as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, demonstrating a strong understanding of diesel engines and related systems
- Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics, repair techniques, and maintenance procedures
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a similar role would be advantageous
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, customers, and vendors
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering quality work
- Proficiency in computer applications for record-keeping and communication purposes
- Clean driving record, with a CDL endorsement being a plus
