- Lead the hardware and systems engineering product development efforts, including the integration and productization of AI/ML for the Verily Retinal Service platform.
- Partner closely with product management leadership and software engineering to define a differentiated product development roadmap.
- Own engineering technical development and implement strategy for development working with the team on prioritization, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Lead, coach, mentor and motivate a team of hardware and systems engineers in their technical and career development.
- Oversee and manage the technical development and maintenance of device hardware (including electrical, mechanical, product design, optical engineering) and systems engineering development, including the integration of hardware and software on the platform.
- Advocate on behalf of team members, secure the resources needed for teams to excel.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 10+ years experience in hardware and systems engineering, building technical commercial products in a medically regulated environment.
- Experience in leading and managing engineering development teams across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Strong technical skills and hands on experience in hardware and systems engineering, including integration with firmware and software.
- A track record of leading strategic and technical decision making utilizing strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Master or Ph.D degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
- Proven track record developing products with the integration and productization of AI / ML.
- 15+ years experience managing engineering teams that launched complex medical products commercially.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic and technical decisions with successful delivery of products, ideally in the Ophthalmic space
- Experience in medical product development, design control process, quality and regulatory environments from concept through launch.

Description
We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to provide leadership for the Numetric Retinal Service platform. This individual will work closely with key partners in product and commercial to contribute to the strategic vision for the Numetric Retinal Service platform and align the engineering roadmap across multiple products and programs. This is a key role that will bring together the hardware and system engineering teams and will collaborate closely with software/firmware engineering, biomarker and image engineering, technical operations, data science, product, program management, UX, quality, clinical, security, and regulatory.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in the Ophthalmic space of devices, experience in managing hardware and system engineering teams, and a track record of delivering medical devices products from concept to production.
