    UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Professional Staff Nurse to join their growing Acute Pain team In this role, you will work closely with the Anesthesia team, assisting with pain blocks.

    This role is Monday to Friday, rotating 8-hour shifts starting as early as 5 am. You will also be able to cross-train to work in the Ambulatory Surgery Center


    Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the career ladder, based on their individual experience and education.

    Responsibilities


    • Serve on or lead teams that launch innovations in patient care or support a healthy workforce.
    • Consistently give appropriate feedback to all members of the health care team and participate in the nursing peer review process.
    • Promote change that enhances the quality of patient care and the unit environment.
    • Serve on teams and leads successful teams as a part of daily practice.
    • Demonstrate highly developed clinical assessment and analytical skills within the context of Relationship Based Care.
    • Actively participate in shared governance at unit level and serve on hospital-wide councils.
    • Demonstrate a passion for developing others, enthusiastically and expertly precepts students, graduate nurses, and new hires.
    • Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.
    • Formulate daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as a partner and consider the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.
    • Create comprehensive patient documentation and promote communication between caregivers.
    • Demonstrate critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological and spiritual issues for the patient care within an episode of care.
    • Incorporate national professional organization as well as business unit and health system's goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction of the patient experience in daily work.
    • Create a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
    • Maintain a conscious balance between work and personal life through prioritization and delegation of responsibilities.

    Qualifications:

    • At least 6 months of previous nursing experience, preferred.
    • ACLS certification preferred.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances


    • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Act 34
