    Description

    Position Summary:

    Plan, organize, and direct Human Resources functions that conform to federal, state, and local law and are consistent with the company mission. Overall responsibility to recruit, hire, and retain the highest quality workforce, from entry level through management. The scope of the job requires performing various HR related clerical and administrative functions within the company.

    Zehnder Ritting is headquartered in WNY with remote sales locations in numerous states. The position requires coordination with a third party to ensure all legal requirements are met as a multi-state employer.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serves as company contact regarding various legal matters regarding employment, and when appropriate represents the company with such agencies as the Department of Labor, Equal Opportunity Commission, Occupational Safety and Health
    • Builds relationships with various community organizations and helps to promote Zehnder as an employer of choice in the WNY area.
    • Guides the employment of a world-class workforce for all levels of employees, from entry level through senior management.
    • Responsible for ensuring staffing levels are maintained. Works with department heads to determine staffing needs. Initiates recruitment, interviews prospective candidates, selects candidates, extends job offers, and negotiates wage/benefits.
    • Identifies and negotiates contracts with third party staffing and recruitment services.
    • Provides leadership to employees and assists management with employee motivation efforts to enhance productivity and quality of work life.
    • Facilitates HR performance measurements, analyzes data and provides feedback and improvement recommendations to management.
    • Designs and implements personnel and administrative policies and programs consistent with company strategic goals and in line with legal requirements.
    • Directly responsible for performing and maintaining various HR related clerical and administrative functions, including, but not limited to: personnel records maintenance, payroll processing, and attendance tracking.
    • Recommend and implements compensation programs consistent with company goals.
    • Counsels with employees and provides guidance on various work-related and personal issues.
    • Designs and implements benefit programs that offer quality benefits at a reasonable cost to the company and employees.
    • Coordinates and facilitates new employee orientation.
    • Assists Safety Manager with planning and implementing various safety and health programs designed to provide a safe work environment and to foster employee wellness.
    • All other duties assigned by President.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or experience:

    Bachelor Degree in Business or related field

    Minimum 5 years human resources generalist experience

    Firsthand experience working in a small to mid-size manufacturing company employing a diverse workforce

    Mathematical/Analytical skills:

    Strong knowledge of employment law and experience dealing with various governmental agencies

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Strong interpersonal skills

    Computer skills:

    Highly computer literate in current business software products
