What does it mean to work at a nonprofit veterinary clinic?

In addition to the amazing benefit of being eligible for the federal loan forgiveness program, below are some of the unique benefits of working at HSHV's not-for-profit clinic:

Being a not-for-profit organization means we put
    mission ahead of profit.

Like any business, we have to pay the bills, but our top goal is to help keep our community of pets healthy and happy with the best possible care, and to keep that care as accessible as possible so that no pet family in need is denied services.

In addition to accessibility, we are also deeply committed to high-quality, innovative, fear-free, and compassionate services.

For our veterinarians, this means there are no quotas, no upselling, and no turning sick or injured animals away just because their humans lack financial means.

For those struggling, we offer payment plans, discounted services, free services, and regular low-cost vaccine clinics. To reduce pet overpopulation, we have a robust TNR program and offer low-cost spay/neuter services.

HSHV also has a newer program called
Friends for Life that helps seniors and other vulnerable families care for their furry family members.

Our Clinic is tied to an award-winning no-kill shelter, so people who truly can't care for their pets have humane options.

And, our organization offers an array of other important, proactive, and educational services to help create a better world for all animals.

We know that being a veterinarian is a difficult and stressful job.

Working at HSHV means you will be doing meaningful work and be a crucial part of our critical mission, but you won't be exhausting yourself to make a profit for someone else.

In fact, any profit made by our Clinic goes back into helping low-income clients and the care and protection of homeless and abused animals.

Our Vice President of Veterinary Medicine is an outstanding and compassionate leader and mentor with 25 years of experience in private practice and shelter medicine.

HSHV cares about both people and animals and is dedicated to being a family-friendly organization that allows a flexible schedule, a good work/life balance, and a great benefits package to help keep you and your family healthy.

When you work at HSHV you aren't just treating animals, you are making a real difference in our community
