    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Auxillary and Business Services is seeking a Inventory Control and Distribution Specialist, level 2 to join their team.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible to the General Stores (GS) & Central Distribution Services (CDS) Manager for establishing schedules and truck zones and for supervising the receipt and delivery of products to University Park campus as well as delivery of General Stores orders to the Commonwealth campus locations.
    • Manage a dispatch center for external and internal truck deliveries. Provide guidance and training to two (2) Central Distribution Services Freight Drivers.
    • Manage, receive, approve and bill all customer requests for compressed gas cylinders and equipment and handle all cylinder returns for UP campus only.
    • Manages and maintain numerous Cost Centers and GL Accounts for compressed gas cylinders billing to ensure accuracy. Process customer requests for Cost Center and GL Account changes. Handle any account issue and process credits.
    • Serve as liaison with suppliers, manufacturers, trucking companies, and University Departments.
    • Ensure accuracy of inventory records, receiving documentation, and conformance to specifications and storage requirements.
    • Coordinate maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment and truck fleet.
    • Serve as Safety Officer for Auxiliary & Business Services (ABS) GS/CDS, Procurement Services and Lion Surplus. Supervise and maintain all safety standards and certifications.
    • Provide CDS Services for two (2) Career Services Days per year (Spring/ Fall) that includes receipt/delivery of vendor presentation equipment.
    • Recommend, implement, operate, and maintain warehouse/distribution technology systems.
    • Manage claims processing for all carriers. Monitor carrier performance.

    Education and Experience:

    Requires associate degree in a technical or administrative program or equivalent, plus four (4) years of work-related experience. Excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as familiarity with tracking systems/ software packages (SAP, SCLOGIC, Word, Excel) desired.
