Stantec is seeking a mid-to-senior level Structural Engineer capable of leveraging their expertise in engineering design requirements to support the implementation of resilient building codes, standards, and policies in communities throughout the US. The new staff member will provide technical input, project management, building code analyses, resilience policy review, and technical writing for a diverse team of engineers, architects, building officials, scientists and planners. The new hire should be capable of proactive project management both internally with staff, across private and NGO partners, and directly with local, state and federal clients. The role will be responsible for final delivery of products that are on budget, on time, and meet or exceed client expectations. This role includes coordination with clients on deliverable timelines and facilitation of technical reviews with SMEs. The new hire will be responsible for adhering to internal and client protocols for periodic project reporting, continuous safety assessments, and assist with the mentoring of staff. This hire should have a strong technical research background with the ability to summarize findings in a succinct and thorough manner which can be understood by other technically proficient individuals and, at times, laymen as well. Strong communications skills including PowerPoint presentations, report preparations, and technical emails are required. A general interest in resilience policy, climate change, hazard mitigation, emergency management and building science is preferred.
