    Full Stack Engineer (Contract)

    Company: Leading shipping and logistics provider in the US

    Location: Oakland, Phoenix, or Honolulu - Hybrid onsite 1-2 days per week

    Contract Duration: 1 year (potential for full-time transition)

    Summary

    This role is with a prominent shipping and logistics provider in the US. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be tasked with constructing, setting up, and preserving applications to support various business functions and ensure seamless operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Comprehend business vertical requirements.
    • Design and deploy top-notch solutions utilizing cutting-edge technology and in-depth knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
    • Collaborate with production operations, construction, and deployment teams for smooth deployment of application components.
    • Enforce proper change control processes and provide technical assessment of new technology.
    • Ensure timely project delivery in coordination with project leads and managers.
    • Communicate proficiently within cross-functional teams, conveying technical concepts clearly.
    • Demonstrate strong programming abilities in Java, Web Services, Spring Framework, and SQL.
    • Develop efficient, testable code and build reusable components.

    Skills, & Abilities

    • Proficient in Java, Spring Framework, Web services, and SQL.
    • Effective problem-solving and debugging skills.
    • Knowledgeable in CI/CD pipeline and AWS cloud deployments.
    • Experience with Tomcat, Apache, JBoss, and web tools.
    • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles.
    • Ability to encourage innovative thinking within teams.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise application development.
    • Experience with React is a bonus.
    • Strong skills in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful Services, XML, Tomcat, JBoss.
    • Proficiency in relational databases, MySQL experience preferred.

    Nice to Have:

    • Cloud-based solutions implementation experience.
    • Proficiency in version control tools like GitHub and build tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins.
    • Experience with Linux/Unix, open-source Java stack, and Application Servers.
    • Understanding of INFOSEC and Cyber Security principles.
    • Experience in Shipping and Logistics sector.
