TYPICAL EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or years of experience in lieu of degree (1). For research, development, system integration, or projects with high technical content, a B.S. in a relevant technical field may be required. For projects with lower technical content (e.g., services or transactions), a business administration or other degree may be preferred.

Experience in Managing Projects and Track Record:
Prior Project experience required should have 5+ years of experience working on projects or programs, with at least 4 years serving successfully in positions of major responsibilities such as a Project Manager


Certifications:
PMP or other certification (e.g. ITIL) highly recommended.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certified required.
Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a large community of stakeholders.
Candidates must possess leadership skills to successfully manage diverse teams.
Knowledge of all aspects of technology including infrastructure, networking, and applications


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

The main function of an IT Project Manager is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities including project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting.

The position requires to be onsite four days a week.


Job Responsibilities:
Develops, tracks and manages project schedules, budgets, project plans, timelines and scope.
Works with stakeholders to create project schedules, risk and issues logs, and other project documentation.
Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising.
Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements.
Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing.
Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, tracking, developing rollout plans and procedures.
Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses.
Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized.
Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.
Develop a project management framework to provide a structure for execution of the project.
Meet with department liaisons or designated department contacts to identify and clarify requirements needed for the project.
Support gathering, documenting, and analyzing business, functional, and user requirements.
Prepare project proposal and documents by articulating the full scope of work, timeline, assumptions, and budgetary aspects.
Track project performance and produce project status updates.

Coordinate work with internal team to communicate tasks and deadlines effectively to maintain good working relationships with other City staff and consultants.

Coordinate with internal resources and third-party vendors for the execution of the project.
Manage project communications, status updates, milestones, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions and escalations to leadership.
Coordinate meetings, working sessions, and governance checkpoints.
Support change management efforts and documentation and training readiness.
Coordinate operational readiness reviews.
Ensure resource availability and allocation.
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Manage the relationship with the departments and stakeholders.
Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document the project's progression.

Manage complex problems and provide solutions Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Business Management, computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
PMP certification with 5-10 years experience .
Proven project management and tool experience.
Must be analytical and detail oriented.
People management and team building skills.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.

Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.

Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.
Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
Candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a all stakeholders.
Knowledge of all aspects of technology including infrastructure, networking, and applications.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $ $53.00/hr.
