Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Medical Oncologist - Hematology/Oncology to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dedicated to improving the health of our community, Presbyterian Cancer Care is New Mexico's resource for comprehensive and compassionate cancer care. As a certified member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network, our physicians have access to the latest multidisciplinary care resources and best practices developed by MD Anderson Cancer Center. Our team of surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, oncology certified nurses, research staff, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurse navigators, social workers, psychologist, and dietitians work together to incorporate the latest research and treatment options to create the best treatment plan for each patient.
Practice Highlights
Summary
Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy. Medical oncologist works in collaboration with the supportive care team and may coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Hematology includes diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders
Responsibilities
In alignment with NCCN guidelines, order and oversee diagnostic testing; prescribe treatment and supportive medications; collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, research to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure. Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum. Participation in tumor board(s) is required.
