- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns and payments for various jurisdictions in a timely matter.
- Assist with external sales and use tax audits, as necessary.
- Prepare and file personal property tax returns at the local and state level. Evaluate assessment notices for accuracy and timely process property tax bills for payment to taxing authorities.
- Review state and local tax laws in order to legally minimize tax liabilities.
- Prepare fixed asset depreciation calculations and reconciliations. Enter fixed asset acquisitions and disposals monthly.
- Assist with the preparation of state income tax workpapers and returns, as needed.
- Interact and collaborate effectively with other members of the tax department, operating divisions, corporate accounting, etc.
- Assist with tax planning, tax research, and analyzing the application of tax laws to specific situations, as needed.
- Assist with additional special projects and duties, as requested.
- Stay updated on current tax law and maintain CPE requirements to keep current CPA license, if applicable.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- Experience with indirect taxes, specifically sales and use taxes and property taxes, preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred, with motivation to maintain a high level of business, accounting, and tax competence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, tax research software, and capable of expanding skills into other software applications, as necessary.
- Must have a strong work ethic, time management skills, be detail-oriented and be organized.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be self-motivated with a sense of responsibility to work under various deadlines, and the ability to multi-task.
- Must be trustworthy and able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Description Summary
The Tax Accountant will collaborate as part of the corporate tax team with responsibility for preparing sales and use tax returns, assisting in the sales and use tax monthly reconciliation process, preparing property tax filings, researching state and local tax laws, preparing fixed asset calculations, and assisting with special projects, as needed. The Tax Accountant will report to the Vice President of Tax and will interface with company and subsidiary finance associates.
