    SUMMARY:

    The Payroll Manager must have in depth knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, state, local tax laws as well as familiarity with all types of pre and post-tax benefits and 401K plans. They will be responsible for auditing and validating data in the payroll, time keeping, and HR system, identifying, and implementing payroll workflows and efficiencies while establishing best payroll practices, completing projects, and contributing to the overall effectiveness and continuous improvement of data integrity and the payroll operation.

    FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES:
    • Oversees the processing of payroll cycles, including benefits deductions, for exempt and non-exempt employees in a complex, multi-state and multi-country environment
    • Administers the 401(k) for multiple plans
    • Researches and resolves complex employee tax issues to ensure accurate employee tax withholding and quarter/ annual tax filing
    • Monitors and communicates changes to federal, state or local tax code to ensure system updates are completed and managers/employees are notified of potential impact to paychecks
    • Creates payroll checklist and verifies all steps are completed each pay period
    • Performs regular, quarterly and year-end audits for payroll and the 401(k)
    • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
    • Ensures the integrity of HR and payroll data within company systems through proficient use of various reporting tools, data auditing methodology, and advanced knowledge of system and data elements
    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    • Specific payroll processing experience using a complex HRIS for a multi-state employer; UKG experience
    • Fluency with tax withholding requirements based on employee work and resident locations, including remote-based workers
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience running Canadian or other international payroll, preferred
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of three years of prior UKG payroll administration in a multi-state environment is required
