    JOB PURPOSE:

    This position is responsible for removing masking material such as tape, paper, plastic plugs after paint or powder coating process on metal parts according to customer specifications, engineering blueprints, and L&T workmanship standards. Prioritizes jobs based on production schedule and directions from superiors.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Reviews all documents relating to the job at hand and follows drawing specifications.
    • Removes plugs, covers, and/or masking materials as necessary to clear parts of covering material.
    • Touch-up paint/powder coat to fix hook marks and small imperfections.
    • Loads parts on designated carts and moves them to the work area for the next operation area.
    • Identifies parts and notifies when they are ready for inspection.
    • Continually monitors and is responsible for the quality of own work.
    • Selects appropriate masking material and methods to obtain required result per blueprint and specifications.
    • Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
    • Keep all work areas clean and organized.
    • Commitment to all safety policies and regulations at all times.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in manual assembly is desired.
    • Some computer skills required to be trained on documents stored electronically and ERP system.
    • Detail oriented and good communication skills.
    • Able to identify/correct production issues.
    • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating machine maintenance, and instruction and/or procedure manuals.
    • Able to fluently read and understand engineering blueprints, specifications, process documents, instructions or procedure manuals and inspection tools.
    • Able to utilize all tools related to the process with clear instruction and training.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • While performing duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to stand, use hands, and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms; and talk to hear.
    • The employee is occasionally required to lift and climb balancing.
    • Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reaching.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
