Overview:
The Medical Staff Specialist is integral to the administration of the medical staff operations at Riverside Medical Center. This role involves managing credentialing and privileging processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and facilitating communication among medical staff and administrative departments. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
Essential Duties
- Coordinates the credentialing and privileging process for physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinical staff. Manages medical staff meetings, including coordination and minute taking.
- Verify qualifications, training, and licensure of medical staff in accordance with accreditation standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the credentialing database.
- Collaborate with medical staff leadership and department heads to develop and revise privileging criteria.
- Maintains credentialing forms electronically for all providers. Monitors the process of practitioner performance to ensure evaluations are completed and used in the credential and re-credentialing process.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including CMS, DNV, and state licensing boards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to credentialing and privileging and medical staff organization. Recredentials physicians, non-physician providers and professional health staff corporate-wide.
