    Position SummaryThe Manager, Accounting is responsible for daily supervision of the Accounting team, ensuring proper segregation of duties and internal controls, and the creation of monthly financial reporting packages that adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

    This includes primary responsibility for the month-end Financial Close process for various entities, including journal entry review for a high volume of entries, and monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliation review.

    Additionally, this Manager oversees the escheatment process for various bank accounts from the leadership and guidance perspective.

    In addition, this position directs the preparation of audit schedules and is involved in tax returns preparation with the Director.

    This position will interface directly with external parties, such as auditors, tax preparers and Finance team members at affiliated entities.

    Concurrently, this Manager also creates and upholds a culture of accountability and promotes employee engagement and professional development.

    Essential Functions And Responsibilities Of The JobSupervises daily work activities of subordinate staff and capitalize on developmental opportunitiesEnsure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesEnsure proper segregation of duties and internal controlsDirects preparation of consolidated monthly financial reporting package for MCMFDirects or is involved in preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for affiliated entitiesAnalysis and presentation of financial results to various parties including internal finance committees and/or external Board of Directors meetingsCollaborate with finance/accounting teams across MHS and at affiliated entities, including participation in monthly financial review meetings and ad hoc meetings as neededDirect preparation of audit schedules, including interfacing directly with auditors as department liaisonAlong with other Accounting leadership, work on preparation of tax return related requests, which could include interfacing directly with tax preparers as department liaisonReview workflows and identify areas requiring improvement, provide recommendations and lead necessary implementationDevelop workflows to address new lines of business, medical practice acquisitions or accounting guidanceOversee the State of CA escheatment process for various bank accounts (from a leadership & guidance perspective)Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.

    In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.

Minimum RequirementsQualifications/Work ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in Finance/AccountingMinimum of 3 years' experience managing a team of mid to high-level accountantsStrong experience in complex financial statement preparation, analysis, internal controls and current auditing techniquesFluent in GAAP and familiar with recent accounting pronouncementsEducation/Licensure/CertificationBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent requiredCPA license preferred#J-18808-Ljbffr
