- Applying age-appropriate, culturally responsive teaching practices
- Using technology to support scholars' learning plans
- Creating differentiated learning materials for diverse learners
- Managing administrative tasks efficiently and professionally
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Completing other assigned duties
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field (required)
- Eligible for DC OSSE certification in the content area (required within one year of employment)
- Experience working with incarcerated or opportunity youth (preferred)
- Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies

The English Teacher must be willing to teach various English subjects and support students with special learning or emotional needs. The worksite is located in a juvenile detention center.
