    Job Description


    A Manufacturing Engineer Level will support both production and engineering with exploration into production difficulties, analysis, and the recommendation of solutions to ensure proper production flow.

    Based on engineering and program data, the selected candidate will execute activities to define, implement, and support the manufacturing and assembly methods that enable optimal use of the resources required.

    The Manufacturing Engineer will work with engineering on solving non-standard problems and will trigger the change process. Less supervision is required and the candidate is called upon to plan and coordinate complex projects (costing, schedules, and writing of reports)
    The key working relationships of the Manufacturing Engineer Level:
    Report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
    Regularly interact and provide insight and influence at all levels from shop floor associates to business leaders in leading and encouraging best shop practices

    Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Establish and maintain manufacturing sequential orders
    Create and Update Master item production data within ERP system (Infor LN)
    Analyze production capacity such as manpower and equipment
    Validate, document, and maintain manufacturing data such as workloads, capacity planning, capabilities, master production data, etc.
    Analyze and establish production standard times
    Manage engineering changes with minimal impact/risk to production
    Responsible for determining the material and method of how parts are fabricated (raw stock, forgings, castings, etc.)
    Creation of production routings.
    Identify and participate in Continuous Improvement events
    Familiarity of CNC machining, Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical systems.
    Machining, Fabrication, and assembly experience and equipment capability knowledge
    Basic Materials (Metallurgical) knowledge
    Welding (GMAW, SMAW, FCAW) process knowledge. Experience with Tack Tables or Jigs and Fixtures.
    Capable to interact with other departments and understand total business view
    Drive standardization of processes, production, and product
    Responsible to Manage BOM's and Routers. Capable of restructuring BOM's to minimize production time

    Qualifications

    Education or Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 0 – 2 years of experience.

    3 – 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
    LSS Certification Preffered
    Working knowledge in a manufacturing environment is essential
    Knowledge of mechanical assembly and of flow line manufacture
    Interpersonal Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
    Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written
    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
    Ability to overcome obstacles and pursue alternate methods when required
    Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and identify, lead, and implement improvement ideas
    Demonstrated ability to facilitate and partner with cross-functional teams
    Must be time-driven, possess a strong product development, and operations attitude
    Ability to lead and influence a team members
    Work politely and professionally with customers and coworkers
    Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines
    Strong teamwork and organizational skills is a must have

    Technical Skills
    ERP system (Infor LN is preferred)
    Team Center and Team Center Manufacturing is a plus
    Microsoft Office
    Experience with reading and understanding engineering design drafts along with engineering and production bills of materials.
    CAD (Solid Edge or Creo is preferred)
