    We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineers

    The opportunity is very unique and is quite lucrative.

    Design pole replacements, equipment replacements, reconductors, etc for the Puerto Rican distribution system as a QUES employee

    Onsite training will be provided

    You'll be put up in a hotel for 3 weeks at a time. Hotel is covered by company

    You'll get $150/day for food per diem for every day you're in PR. So that's $1050/week.

    Shifts are 5-10hr shifts per week so that's 10 hours of OT as well.

    The 4thweek you can fly home for a week. You can use accumulated PTO, or go unpaid. However, you can also choose to stay and work additional weeks in PR. All flights are covered by QUES to and from. Once you return, the rotation starts over.

    At the 12-18 month period, performance and personal situation will be assessed to determine next steps.

    This is a 15 year long program.

    Prepare preliminary and detailed drawings by using computer aided drafting software.

    Prepare construction plans, material requirements and cost estimates for electrical distribution overhead and underground projects.

    Assist in the development of, conductor replacement, structure replacements, and other Overhead and Underground projects.

    Review field data, photos, etc. to meet requirements of latest updates and technologies of the customer.

    Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet all requirements.

    Meet with clients to gather technical requirements.

    Translate Wind Loading / Pole Loading / compliance forms.

    Coordinate access to professional/private facilities (e.g., schools, hospitals, military bases, etc.) when applicable.

    Assist in field site meets; meet with developers, customers, local agencies.

    Work in a team environment.

    Communicate with internal staff and customer with appropriates media's (email, fax, phone, video, etc.).

    Field check design layouts.

    Office check designs and redline changes.

    Recognize process waste and suggest changes.


    Job Requirements:
    Electrical Engineering Degree or electrical distribution and/or transmission design experience may be substituted.

    Experience in transmission and/or distribution material identification.

    Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc).

    Experience with O-Calc, SPIDA, and/or PoleForeman Pole Loading Software is preferred

    Bi-Lingual is preferred but not required

    Work will be minimum 5-10 hour days


    Will be working in Puerto Rico for minimum 3 weeks then may get flight home for a week 'off' using either accumulated PTO or taking unpaid.

    There is option to remain in Puerto Rico that week and continue working if no need to visit mainland.

    Hotel and travel costs are covered by the company

    Per Diem of $150/day for all days spent in Puerto Rico (all 7 days each week)

    Training will be performed on site

    Family members may also stay at the hotel as long as they are at or less than accommodation limitations. Employee will be responsible for cost of travel for family member(s).


    Initial design phase is 12-18 month commitment then program and employees will be evaluated for additional terms and/or additional program placement.

    High attention to detail.

    Time management; prioritizing work and documenting tasks.

    Reporting anomalies to project management stakeholders through established tools or verbally.

    Wearing and utilizing all required safety PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) with situational awareness.

    Keeping a clean and organized work station both physically and virtually.

    Rearranging work area to optimize safety and/or productivity.

    Punctual for daily start time and meetings.

    Fill out time keeping / accounting documentation on a daily or weekly basis.

    Work after normal hours as needed

    Keeping a current state driver's license without restrictions.
