    Are you passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights? If you thrive on extracting knowledge from complex datasets and possess a knack for predictive modeling, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Join NS2 Mission as a Data Scientist, where you'll play a crucial role in unlocking the power of data to drive informed decision-making and shape the future of our analytics initiatives. You will be supporting the team in Virginia Beach, VA.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Ability to code in Python and leverage a variety of data analysis packages to include Pandas and/or Polars.
    • Experience working with distributed computing frameworks like Spark, data engineering technologies like Airflow, and a broad familiarity with contemporary database options.
    • Experience visualizing results from Exploratory Data Analysis and presenting findings to a customer.
    • Experience working with a software development team, software engineering best practices, and applying the results from a data science project to lightweight applications.
    • Experience developing machine learning models from inception and design, training, and testing, and through deployment.
    • Extensive knowledge of appropriate analytic methods and methodological tools in one or more of the following areas:
      1. Applied Mathematics (e.g., probability and statistics, formal modeling, computational social sciences)
      2. Computer Programming (e.g., programming languages, math/statistics packages, computer science, machine learning, scientific computing)
      3. Visualization (e.g., GIS/geospatial analysis, telemetry analysis)

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in data science, Data Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
    • On-the-job experience exhibiting communication skills, both oral and written, as well as making presentations to small audiences
    • Experience with Python
    • Experience with network architecture
    • Experience with risk assessments, methodologies, and scoring
    • Experience working independently

    Position Clearance Requirement:

    TS/SCI
