Job Summary
We are seeking a Youth Counselor to join our team at Eckerd Connects' Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program in Boomer, North Carolina. As a Youth Counselor, you will work with adjudicated male youth ages 13-17 referred by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice.Eckerd Connects employees and applicants for employment are covered by federal,state,and local laws designed to safeguard employees and job applicants from discrimination based on race,color religion sex,pregnancy parental status national origin age disability genetic information political affiliation military service or other status protected by applicable federal state or local laws.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience working with youth,bachelor's degree in social/behavioral services preferred.Direct care in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting is also preferred.The ideal candidate will be able to provide group counseling sessions while ensuring the progress and welfare of each client.The selected individual will demonstrate strong communication skills,cultural sensitivity,a commitment to teamwork,and flexibility.
