    The College of Education is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as an Adjunct Professor in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of preparing future educators who inspire and engage students in these critical fields.

    Essential Functions

    • Teach Courses: Deliver engaging and innovative instruction in STEM education courses, including subjects such as science methods, technology integration, engineering design, and mathematics instruction.
    • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the department to develop and enhance course materials, ensuring alignment with current STEM education standards and research-based practices.
    • Active Learning Strategies: Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to promote active learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in students.
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student learning outcomes and provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
    • Field Experience Supervision: Provide guidance and mentorship to students during their field experiences and practicum placements, ensuring they gain practical experience in STEM education settings.
    • Professional Development: Stay current with advances in STEM education, including emerging technologies, pedagogical approaches, and best practices, through ongoing professional development and participation in relevant conferences and workshops.
    • Collaboration and Networking: Foster collaboration with colleagues within the College of Education and other STEM-related departments to enhance student learning experiences and promote interdisciplinary approaches.
    • Service and Engagement: Engage in service activities within the College of Education, such as participating in department meetings, serving on committees, and contributing to STEM education initiatives and community outreach efforts.

    Minimum Education and Experience

    • A minimum of a Master's degree in STEM Education, Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
    • In-depth knowledge of STEM education theories, pedagogies, and curriculum development.
    • Previous teaching experience, preferably in STEM education, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students.
    • Familiarity with current educational technologies, software, and tools used in STEM instruction.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse student populations and colleagues.
    • A commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in STEM education.
    • Experience with project-based learning, inquiry-based instruction, and hands-on STEM activities is desirable.

    *This is a part-time adjunct position, and the specific course assignments will be determined based on the needs of the College of Education. The successful candidate will join a dedicated faculty committed to preparing future educators who will make a positive impact in STEM education.
