NetCentrics has an exciting opportunity to migrate the U.S.Veteran Administration (VA) hardware, operating systems, applications, and other elements of its IT infrastructure from IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) to IPv6. To accomplish this task, NetCentrics is looking for experienced IT professionals to provide technical, engineering and guidance to support the critical transition from IPv4 to IPv6.

To ensure the success of our mission, we are seeking technical experts to support all phases from documentation, configuration, inventory management, remediations, security, network monitoring, desk support, testing, training, migration, and strategic planning in both test and real-world environments.

The migration will ensure the design and integration of IPv6 technology across VA on-premises core infrastructure, network operations, support desks, and security systems, as well as VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) where applicable.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements.
• Educate the customer on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project or service life.
• Accountable for the technical decision making, defining successful outcomes and driving engineering execution.
• Develop business cases for investments to drive improvements in metrics.
• Build automation to support product development and data analytics initiatives.
• Create, maintain and track designs (at high and detailed design level) with issue resolution.
• Identify new/emerging technologies for adoption, drive consistent code reviews.
• Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates.
• Continually research current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed.
• Create metrics, monitoring and system reports for a higher level of information, trends analysis and management of the "health" of the environment.
• Conduct design and implementation reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities involving virtualization, cloud infrastructure, OpenStack, management and security, including integration with certain select 3rd party products.
• A work ethic with a focus on quality, results and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent written and oral communication, technical, and analytical skills
• Master level organization and detailed documentation skills.
• Create and manage the infrastructure improvement and capacity plans for assigned applications.
• Cursory, or better, knowledge with IPv6 migrations (preferred)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience.
• Adept with Python and other common programming languages.
• Experience with APIs.
• Skilled with scripting and frameworks.
• Capable of working with a range of operating systems.
• Skills / Experience with tools (or equivalent)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azuer, GCP)
  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, Ansible)
  • CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab)
  • Monitoring, Observability, Logging/Tracing tools

  • Service mesh technologies
  • IAM (Okta, AuthO)
