Job Summary - Special Education, 1:1 Support

The Special Education Paraprofessional works one-on-one with students receiving special education support.

Assignment Information

• Part-Time
• Up to 29 Hours/Week
• Monday - Friday (when instruction is in session)
• $15.50/Hour - Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement 

Assignment Functions and Responsibilities

The job is not limited to any or all of the following functions and responsibilities:

• 1:1 Student Support
• Lunch Supervision
• Access to Support
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education

• REQUIRED:  High school diploma or equivalent
• REQUIRED:  Highly Qualified (HQ) Status
• Completed minimum of 60 college credits -or-
• Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or-
• ETS ParaPro Assessment Qualifying score of The ETS ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test used to assess the skills and knowledge of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals in areas like reading, writing, and math, according to ETS.
• PREFERRED:  CPR/First Aid certified (willing to be provided training)

• Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers

• Ability to assist with personal care needs
• Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
• Some lifting may be required
• Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
