    Exciting Opportunity as a Machinery-Systems Inspector!

    We are thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity at TOTE Services for a talented individual to join us as a Machinery-Systems Inspector for an innovative shipbuilding project in the U.S. Gulf Coast. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the installation of machinery, equipment, and systems on board our vessels.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Champion the safety culture at TOTE Services and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols throughout all inspection activities.
    • Conduct regular inspections to monitor shipyard compliance with quality standards and industry regulations during various stages of fabrication and testing.
    • Verify the installation of machinery and equipment aligns with specifications and manufacturer standards, maintaining a focus on delivering top-notch electrical systems.
    • Thoroughly review production drawings and testing procedures, offer expertise on ship systems, and collaborate with the team to address technical challenges.
    • Lead the oversight of ship systems such as propulsion, HVAC, firefighting systems, among others, ensuring that all processes meet industry standards and requirements.
    • Participate in Dock Trials and Sea Trials to support the final testing and commissioning of machinery and systems, working closely with stakeholders to ensure equipment compliance.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with key partners including USCG, ABS, and shipyard representatives.
    • Independently assess shipbuilding progress, provide regular updates to the Project Manager, and ensure alignment with project timelines.

    Working Environment:

    • Ability to access various work locations including shipyards and vessels, involving tasks in confined spaces, heights, and other physical demands.
    • Physical agility required for activities such as climbing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds of weight.
    • Visual acuity necessary for detailed inspection work, and exposure to various environmental conditions at shipyard locations.
    • Expect moderate to noisy working conditions outdoors in varying climates, engaging with loud noises and potential hazards.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in shipbuilding with expertise in marine systems and construction drawings interpretation.
    • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.

    Educational Background:

    A High School Diploma or GED is required, while an advanced degree in Marine Engineering or related field is highly desirable.
