- Lead and perform advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) using methods such as ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), radiographic (RT), and visual inspection (VT).
- Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures, techniques, and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Train, mentor, and certify NDT Level I and II inspectors, ensuring they maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Interpret and evaluate test results, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and non-conformances, collaborating with engineering and production teams to implement solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, procedures, and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform audits and assessments of NDT processes and systems to ensure continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards, emerging NDT technologies, and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications preferred.
- Certification as an NDT Level III Inspector in applicable methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, VT).
- Extensive experience as an NDT Inspector in a manufacturing environment, with proven expertise in NDT methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes related to NDT (e.g., ASNT, ASTM, ISO).
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating test results and identifying defects.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to train and develop junior inspectors.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Strong communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods during inspections.
- Visual acuity and attention to detail for performing precise inspections.
