    Gameyard Social is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Cocktail Server.

    Requirements

    PERFORMS THE FOLLOWING TASKS TO PROMOTE TEAMWORK:
    • Practices proper time reporting (i.e., punches in and out accurately).
    • Arrives to work on time, in the proper work attire, and ready to work.
    • Is neat and well-groomed for every shift and in immaculate and proper work attire.
    • Demonstrates a helpful, positive attitude at all times to guests and employees.
    • Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures.
    • Provides complete and timely communication to other employees throughout the shift.
    • Is prepared to conduct weekly maintenance duties.
    • Completes all assigned tasks and duties requested by managers.
    PREPARE FOR A SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
    • Arrives 10 minutes prior to shift to be prepared for shift.
    • Meets with the manager to receive updates and station assignments.
    • Prepares tables for large parties/events when necessary.
    • Prepares silverware rolls to ensure sufficient stock of silverware is available.
    • Confirms that silverware, glassware, plateware on tables, chairs, and booths are spotless by visually inspecting them to prepare for guest use and service.
    EXECUTES THROUGHOUT THE SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
    • Informs guests of specials and menu changes so they may make an informed choice for their meals.
    • Makes food and drink recommendations to guests who are indecisive to provide assistance and hospitality.
    • Suggestively sells to increase check total and food sold in the restaurant and to slow down the absorption of alcoholic drinks.
    • Answers questions guests may have regarding food, beverages, restaurant, and service using knowledge of the restaurant to inform guests of services available.
    • Complies with all state and federal liquor laws by requesting that guests present a valid form of ID when ordering alcohol.
    • Adheres to alcohol awareness procedures for preventing guest intoxication.
    • Relays orders to bars by entering items from order tickets into the POS system so they know what beverages to prepare.
    • Visually inspects guests' orders and compares them to the order ticket to make sure that all items are prepared according to guests' specifications.
    • Returns orders to the kitchen, if necessary, to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
    • Handles guests' complaints by listening to their concerns, contacts manager with any problems, and solves complaints to the satisfaction of the guests to ensure return visits and guest satisfaction.
    • Communicates with the kitchen or bar if guests' orders do not adhere to specifications to correct any mistakes and ensure that future mistakes will not occur.
    • Observes guests' body language to anticipate guests' needs to add value to the guests' experience and promote repeat business.
    • Assembles take-out orders by putting needed sauces, silverware, and food into a bag to assist the take out person.
    • Carries clean dishes, glassware, etc. to their designated locations to ensure clean supplies are available.
    • Asks guests about their experience at the restaurant to ensure continued satisfaction and determine if they need additional items, etc.
    • Thanks and talks to guests as they leave by asking if they enjoyed their meal and inviting them to return again to discover if their experience was satisfactory and to fix any problems before they leave.
    • Prepares tables for arriving guests by wiping off chairs and booths and setting tables.
    • Communicates with hosts and managers regarding availability of tables, seating of large parties, or special requests so that guests receive quality service.
    • Assists other cocktail servers to aid in the service of guests.
    • Assists managers in training new cocktail servers by showing trainees the correct way to complete tasks to help them learn about the restaurant and the position.
    • Inspects restrooms, dining room, game yard, and lobby; cleans as needed, and reports any unsafe conditions to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
    • Monitors the dining room for guests preparing to leave, picks up extra menus, trash, etc., to keep the dining room clean, organized, and full.
    • Monitors dining room tables to ensure they meet or exceed standards (e.g., proper table symmetry, non-streaked glassware, etc.).
    • Polishes silverware and glassware by wiping them to ensure cleanliness and maintain presentation standards.
    • Visually checks stock of plates, roll-ups, and glassware by walking through alleys to ensure supplies are available.
    • Helps in the set-up, execution, clean-up of any scheduled events.
    EXECUTES AT THE END OF THE SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
    • Checks out with a manager and performs additional duties as assigned.
    • Completes assigned side work to maintain product supply level and sanitation standards.
    • Retrieves print-out of sales and "cashes out" with manager on duty to ensure that all restaurant monies have been collected.
    • Cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, and counter tops following standard procedures to ensure sanitized drinking and eating surfaces.
    • Read the work schedule to determine when the next shift and work time will occur.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
    • Able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English.
    • Must meet local, legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Able to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level.
    • Able to move items up to 30 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet.
    • Able to remain standing and active for an 8-12 hour shift.
    • Able to hear, understand, and respond to employees' and guests' requests in a loud environment.
    • Skill and coordination at using hands to write, pour and carry several drinks, plates, and bowls at the same time.
    Salary Description

    $4/Hour
