    Forterra is seeking a Maintenance III-Electro-Mechanical/Multi-Craft Mechanic for its Winter Haven, FL location.


    RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:

    • Follow all safety rules, LOTO Policy, and company issued PPE
    • Must be willing to work closely with Production Operations for Machine Integrity and Functions to Preventive Failure subjects.
    • Be a Team Player with the ability to Lead and Follow according to Skill level and Authority.
    • Complete Preventive Maintenance Tasks as assigned by the Supervisor via automated issuance of Technician PMs.
    • Understanding "Tools of the Trade" such as Calipers, Tape Measure, SAE and Metric sizes. Shop equipment such as Chop and Band, Saws, Drills, etc.
    • Light Welding and fabrication a PLUS. Repairing Guards and fabrication small brackets.
    • Respond to Production "break down" calls in a timely manner with skill and confidence.
    • Understand Basic Electro-Mechanical fundamentals, Motor Contactors, Limit Switches, Motor Rotation. PLC Experience a PLUS.
    • Assist other mechanics/technicians in Emergency Breakdowns, Follow up effectively with Emergency repairs to OEM Quality.
    • Must be able to read and write in English due to PM and System Software driven Planning will be issued in English.
    • Understanding the Root Cause versus Symptomatic Repairs. The 5 Whys, Root Cause Analytics and future impacts.
    • Participate with the entire FORTERRA team to create a safe, productive working environment. Including 5S mentality.
    • Must be willing to execute Skilled Assignments in a Professional and Timely manner.
    • Must be dependable, arrive on time and stay until the shift is over especially required during Emergency Breakdowns.
    • Must present Professional Fact Based evaluations of Machinery within your specific Scope of Practice.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Must have 5 years in the Maintenance or Industrial Electrical Field or Both.
    • Must be able to follow specific instructions in English.
    • Must be willing to follow all safety procedures.
    • Must have Basic Hand Tools necessary for routine maintenance tasks. Specialty Tools will be available as the need arises.
    • Must have good mechanical aptitude. Be able to see past the Breakage and Identify the Root Source.
    • Must have a desire to participate in the overall effort to keep all operations running smoothly.
    • Must value preventative maintenance programs.
    • Must be able to read and understand mechanical terminology, tools and basic Mechanical Theory.
    • Must have the ability to do light Flux / Stick welding use an acetylene/oxygen torch.
