    Description
    • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provideservices based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety,and other related criteria appropriate to the age specific and/orcultural diversity of the population served in his/her assignedarea.
    • Maintains required corecompetencies.
    • Complies with set Policies andProcedures (i. e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking,etc.)
    • Prepares patient for exam, administerspremedication, radioactive isotopes and transfers patients toexamining table after checking chart.
    • Complieswith unit and departmental scheduling guidelines. Is prepared tostart shift on time.
    • Performs skills accordingto accepted standards as listed within the orientations skillscheck list.
    • Surveys amount of radiation givenoff by radioactive material shipped to the department.
    • Measures the radioactive dosage prescribed for a patientwith a dose calibrator. Scans patient and makes propersettings.
    • Maintains supplies, restocks andreports as needed.
    • Records information onpatient care and examination, maintains records on scans and testresults and files patient records.
    • Properlyprepares and labels radiopharmaceuticals.
    • Always wears film badge above the collar. Turns infilm badges monthly for evaluation and follows up on results. Always wears film badge ring when on duty.
    • Surveys Hot Lab and scan room for contaminationdaily.
    • Performs all daily, weekly, monthly,semi-annual and annual surveys and QC.
    • Writtendocumentation is accurate, concise, and legible.
    • Performs daily checks on the emergency drug box inNuclear Medicine department.
    • Coordinatesscheduling of patient exams, orders isotopes, pharmaceuticals andother supplies as needed.
    Requirements

    Education

    Required:

    HighSchool

    Preferred:

    Associatein Applied Sciences

    Licenses &Certifications

    Required:

    C-CNMT

    L-NuclearMedicineNMT

    Preferred:

    C-BLS
