    There is never a dull moment on this strategic effort, a cornerstone for the nation's security. The LGM-35A Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program will completely replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM, an undertaking not performed in over 50 years. This program is considered a "mega-project" and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of War. The new ICBM weapon system acquisition effort brings with it the newest digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075. As part of the U.S. Air Force's Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems provides advisory and assistance services in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor.

    The Role

    This key position will lead, motivate and effectively manage ISC personnel in the Sentinel Flight Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT), in support of program Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) phase activities, testing, production, sustainment and other activities as assigned. They will oversee a dynamic team of multi-disciplinary ISC personnel in conducting systems and mission integration activities and analytics supporting multiple branches providing direct support to the government.

    This leader will work closely with their government customer and their direct reports to maintain tight alignment with and excellent support of government customer priorities delivering products that meet or exceed expectations. They will interact and cooperate with experts from program aligned University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC) and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) as well as other ISC managers as needed to ensure coordinated delivery of technically sound products and analysis.

    Responsibilities

    * Leadership: ensure a cohesive and dynamic team atmosphere, guiding and supporting project team members to optimize their capabilities and enhance their contributions to the program.

    * Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans to guide the acquisition process effectively.

    * Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment and successful execution.

    * Requirement Management: Work Closely with the customer to understand and document project requirements, ensuring they are clearly defined and achievable within project constraints.

    * Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the acquisition process, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.

    * Schedule Management: Monitor project progress against Earned Value (EV) Metrics and planned schedules, utilizing EV tools and techniques to identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions to keep the program on schedule.

    * Cost management: Utilize EV principles to manage project expenditures against earned value metrics and allocated budgets, tracking expenses and recommend cost-saving measure to maximize value for the program.

    * Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant DoW Acquisition regulations, policies, and procedures, including FAR and DFARS requirements.

    * Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the acquisition process, implementing best practices and lessons learned to enhance program outcomes and performance.

    * Communication: Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders, provide updates on project status, milestones achieved, and key decisions to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the program.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    * A bachelor's degree or higher in: Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or equivalent.

    * 14 years of demonstrated experience (12 years with a master's degree) in Project Management in support of defense systems, technology, or research and development activities.

    * Experience managing multiple large projects simultaneously.

    * Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

    * Analytical and problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail, ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions.

    * Adaptability and resilience in managing project complexities and navigating challenges that arise during execution.

    * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards

    * Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, and collaboration, to foster teamwork and build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.

    * Experience with stakeholder management and engagement strategies, including conducting stakeholder analysis, managing expectations, and fostering strong relationships to ensure project success.

    * Familiarity with project risk management practices, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies, to proactively manage project risks and minimize potential impacts.

    * Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    * ICBM training systems, maintenance, or operations experience.

    * ICBM acquisitions experience.

    * Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

    * Active Top Secret Clearance.

    * Agile Project Management, Earned Value Management, Control Account Management.

    * Engineering/Agile tools: Cameo, MATLAB, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence.

    * Classified government IT systems.

    * Microsoft Office Suite.

    Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range: $ $231200

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
