    Description
    The Stroke Program Manager (SPM) is a skilled clinician who leads the nursing care for stroke patients in adult populations. The SPM collaborates with the Neuroscience Service Line Director and the stroke team to ensure top-quality care through expert nursing consultation and oversight. Responsibilities include:


    Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Acts as an expert resource and role model in caring for stroke patients
    • Assists with stroke code activations and process improvements
    • Advocates for patients and family members by designing policies for optimal care
    • Coordinates tele-stroke program and facility transfers


    Collaboration:
    • Collaborates with healthcare professionals on program policies and protocols
    • Manages administrative functions for stroke committees
    • Plans staff education and quality improvement initiatives


    Data Management:
    • Collects quality data for assessment and performance improvement
    • Analyzes trends and shares data with stakeholders
    • Manages data for guidelines and certifications


    Education and Outreach:
    • Engages in community and educational outreach activities
    • Coordinates with various stakeholders for community education
    • Facilitates engagement opportunities for patients and caregivers
    • Develops educational materials and instructions


    Operations/Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Monitors operational efficiency of the stroke program
    • Participates in program marketing
    • Reviews resource requirements with neuroscience manager


    Quality of Care/Regulatory:
    • Implements guidelines and evidence-based practices
    • Drives quality improvement programs
    • Participates in certification efforts
    • Monitors patient satisfaction scores


    Research:
    • Participates in stroke research and applies findings
    • Develops QI/PI projects and communicates findings
    • Shares current research in care and educational settings


    Growth and Development:
    • Demonstrates commitment to continual learning and growth


    Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

    Required:

    1. Bachelor's degree

    years clinical experience, preferably in Neuroscience/Stroke
