    Job Summary

    The Surgical Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN, assisting with operative procedures, arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases, passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed, and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in preparing and moving patients, and coordinating functions and activities for all surgical specialties
    • Maintain appropriate supplies, instruments, vendor needs, and physician preferences
    • Cover specialty service in absence of RN specialty leader
    • Assist in orienting new hires and training staff for the surgical specialties
    • Participate in strategic planning and related implementation activities

    Work Environment:

    This position is located at St. Anthony North Health Campus Hospital, which consists of 8 OR rooms, 1 cysto room, 1 minor procedure room, a GI room, and a room for pain management. We are an ortho heavy department, performing fracture management, total hips, knees, and shoulders, general, ENT, GYN, urology, spine and plastics procedures.

    Requirements:

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • Two years of surgical tech experience
    • Experience in a specialty field preferred
    • Extensive experience in all service lines
    • Computer skills required
    • HS/GED required
    • Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
    • Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist
    • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
