Summary

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent serves as a principal advisor to the Joint Individual Augmentation (JIA) Branch Chief regarding all joint individual augmentation sourcing matters.

Duties

As a JOINT INDIVIDUAL AUGMENTATION SPECIALIST at the GS some of your typical work assignments may include:

Serves as a team lead for managing and coordinating iterative and complex joint individual augmentation sourcing activities amongst all stakeholders resulting in timely and accurate nominations published in current and future multi-fiscal years (FYs) Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP) Annex D base orders and modifications.

Leads the collaboration of daily efforts of the other JIA specialists in the Individual Augmentation Branch, along with the Combatant Commands, DoD agencies, and Services representatives to create a solution or impasse based on the Secretary of Defense policy and guidance.

Formulates and defends the Joint Force Coordinator sourcing recommendations in coordination with other JIA specialists and Joint Working Group action officers to verify the FP and CCMD risk assessments, shortfalls, or reclamas addressing contentious requirements through Fourth Estate Manpower Tracking System (FMTS), LOGBOOK, Joint Capabilities Requirements Manager (JCRM), ADVANA, or other approved replacement automated system in the future.

Maintains a complete and accurate accounting of all active, approved, and validated CCMD joint manning document requirements, regardless of sourcing status.

Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with key stakeholders to gather and research solid facts to support advice to senior leadership.
