Job summary
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all the functions and activities related to patient access including but not limited to front end customer service patient registration insurance/coverage verification appointment scheduling charge entry billing and managed care as well as a variety of administrative duties in support of department such as coordination of physician credentialing handling phones & mail filling out forms filing photocopying faxing preparing letters reports etc.Position Ambulatory Service Representative II Department Orthopedic Surgery Schedule Full Time ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES Focuses on one or more of the following areas and provides support as needed to optimize daily flow Charge entry Batch controls Billing TES edits Hold bill edits Charge reconciliations
Billing and managed care functions including responding to billing inquires corresponding with insurance carriers investigating discrepancies etc Provides general administrative support to include word processing spreadsheets presentation software create edit department documents presentations Provides physician departmental support managing physician manager calendars scheduling physician managers administrative appointments answering departmental calls credentialing documents etc In addition performs a wide variety of administrative duties ensure proper functioning assigned department including reception customer service creating verifying Master Patient Index MPI registration demographics visit management appointment scheduling consulting tests office procedures follow-up visits cross-booking interpreters social services radiology co-payment collection front-end review correcting registration insurance edits pre-authorization referral coordination referral reconciliation Referral work lists Provides various administrative duties practice handling phones mail filling forms filing photocopying faxing preparing letters reports Adheres BMC RESPECT behavioral standards JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION HS/GED plus years relevant experience Bachelors degree Associates plus year relevant experience EXPERIENCE Experience medical billing similar setting preferred KNOWLEDGE SKILLS Excellent English communication skills oral written interpersonal skills required interact internal external contacts courteous patient focused manner Demonstrated customer service skills ability use appropriate judgment independent thinking creativity resolving customer issues Must maintain strict confidentiality personal health sensitive information Ability effectively handle challenging situations balance multiple priorities Strong computer skills knowledge Microsoft Office applications MS Word Excel Access PowerPoint web/internet required Experience standard hospital registration & billing systems ability learn such systems also required Compensation Range $22.36-$27.26 This range offers estimate based minimum job qualifications However approach determining base pay comprehensive broad range factors considered making offer includes education experience licensure/certifications directly related position requirements In addition BMCHS offers generous total compensation benefits medical dental vision pharmacy contract increases Flexible Spending Accounts savings matches earned time cash paid time off career advancement opportunities resources employee family wellbeing Equal Opportunity Employer/Disabled/Veterans According FTC rise employment offer scams current job openings listed website applications received only through website do ask require downloads any applications apps job offers extended text messages social media platforms do ask individuals purchase equipment employment.
