  • The Position Proposition:

    Entry-level Apprentice Mechanic with a strong drive to learn and proficient mechanical abilities. Skilled in repairing and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment including engines, motors, light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as off-road equipment, trailers, generators, and compressors. Responsibilities include performing repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance. Looks for maintenance issues that may need repairs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Repair light electrical on equipment.
  • Looks for maintenance issues needing repairs.
  • Performs miscellaneous welding, cutting and fabrication as needed, is not required.
  • Able to properly use diagnostic equipment.
  • Educational & Minimum Requirements:

  • High School/GED or 5 years mechanical experience
