    Job Description
    The Director, Development plans, develops, and manages all


    HCC
    Foundation and


    HCC
    Alumni fundraising initiatives as guided by the College's strategic plan.


    The Director develops and executes the annual fundraising plan for the Foundation (The Harford Owl Fund), secures financial support from individuals, foundations, and businesses for student scholarships and college programming; develops and maintains ongoing relationships with donors while developing strategies to secure new financial support; implements the alumni engagement plan; oversees the organization of fundraising events by supervising the Event Coordinator/Gift Officer; and performs other duties as assigned.

    This is an exempt, administrator position.

    administrators receive an annual contract aligning with our 12-month fiscal year, July 1 – June 30. The first contract issued is prorated based on hire date, covering the remainder of the current fiscal year. It is necessary for an administrator to execute a new contract for each fiscal year that employment is offered.


    Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

    Required Education
    Required Experience

    Minimum of 5 years of work experience in fundraising and development is required, including experience coordinating and managing alumni engagement.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    Ability to solicit gifts in support of an annual fund or other fundraising campaigns;
    Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with prospective and current donors;
    Ability to write donor and student stories, press releases, fundraising marketing messages, and e-newsletters.
