Stationary Engineer, 1st Grade - Houston, TX

Job summary
Operates and maintains stationary equipment such as steam boilers air compressors generators turbines and refrigeration equipment at the Central Plant Operates Johnson Controls and Siemens building automation systems to ensure peak performance of the systems Maintains climate controls of critical spaces in the complex which includes but not limited to animal holding rooms computer server systems and research sensitive areas where the climate must be at tolerable levels at all times Must be willing to work any shift Must be available during shutdowns on call on weekends holidays Ensures that steam boilers are running at peak efficiencies which include maintenance tear downs of each boiler annually Ensures that Chilled Water Refrigeration System is running at peak efficiency Conducts routine rounds of the Central Plant associated buildings inspect auxiliary pumps equipment Monitors Pan Alarm System monitors research units freezers cold warm rooms refrigerators notify personnel case activated alarm Performs chemical analysis Steam Chilled Water Cooling Tower Systems each shift Maintains Central Plant ensures neat clean Responds after hours emergencies Baylor Reads meters gauges automatic recording devices specified intervals verify operating conditions Performs inspection equipment detect routine malfunctions need repair adjustment lubrication Reports supervisors developments lead unsafe operating condition Performs preventive maintenance various equipments ensure peak efficiencies Performs small carpentry plumbing electrical maintenance requested departments May perform outside scope requested BCM Administration Oversee Apprentice Stationary Engineer Performed other job-related duties assigned h2Minimum Qualifications /ul liHigh School diploma GED additional technical training liFive years relevant experience liFirst Grade Stationary Engineers license City Houston ul/p>
