    Description

    Job Title: Data Analytics Engineer

    Duration: 06+ months contract to hire

    Work Location: Remote

    Responsibilities:

    Data Extraction and Maintenance:

    • Create and maintain complex data extracts in agreed upon file layouts using Python, SQL, Excel, and flat files (e.g., csv).
    • Ingest data from different internal teams and external vendors into databases.

    Automation:

    • Automate data extract jobs and reports using Python scripts.

    Support and Analysis:

    • Support ad hoc requests from management by running data analysis and providing requested information.

    Reporting and Dashboard Creation:

    • Create dashboards and reports using Power BI.

    Scorecard Creation:

    • Develop scorecards for Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and present them to relevant stakeholders.

    Collaboration:

    • Work with various teams across the organization to fulfill data needs.

    Process Improvement:

    • Re-engineer data processes within the department.

    Performance Expectations/Metrics:

    Technical Proficiency:

    • Expertise in Python, Pandas, and advanced SQL.

    Project Management:

    • Lead or own projects and effectively communicate with internal teams and external vendors.

    Multitasking:

    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    Internal/External Interfaces:

    • The candidate will interface with both internal teams and external vendors.

    Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in Python, Pandas, automation, and advanced SQL.
    • Operations experience including coding in Python and SQL, monitoring, automating, and overseeing data processing jobs.
    • Proficiency in data file/flat file parsing, ingesting data from flat files into databases, and sending data extracts to internal/external vendors.
    • Experience in data analysis using Python/SQL on RDBMS databases like Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, etc.

    Soft Skills:

    • Internal customer-facing lead/contributor.
    • Ability to navigate and identify organizational resources/subject matter experts.
    • Multitasking abilities.
    • Power BI reporting and dashboard creation.
    • Knowledge of healthcare domain, HL7 V2, HL7 V3 data formats.

    Education:

    • Preferred degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

    Software Skills:

    • Expertise in Python, advanced SQL, automation, running data analysis on RDBMS databases, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
