Job Overview

Maintains an efficient and courteous restaurant operation by welcoming customers, assisting with seating, establishing a friendly connection, and handling restaurant payments accurately.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a warm greeting as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Seat customers, provide menus, and build rapport to cater to special requests.
• Assign sections and update servers on new customers to ensure prompt service.
• Maintain a visible presence in the restaurant by staying at the cashier station, supporting servers, addressing customer needs, and evaluating operations.
• Process payments on a cash register, ensuring correct change is returned audibly.
• Verify the accuracy of guest checks and complete charge vouchers correctly.
• Gather feedback from customers to enhance services, expand the customer base, and maximize revenue.
• Distribute and track checks issued to servers, maintain accurate records of transactions.
• Balance daily revenues, report discrepancies promptly to management.
• Clean and tidy the restaurant, assist with various tasks like vacuuming and general cleaning.
• Ensure tables are set up correctly before opening.
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience

Previous experience of 3 months in a role involving cash handling and customer service.

Knowledge/Skills

• High school level mathematical skills, familiarity with cash handling procedures, and knowledge of cash register systems.
• Basic understanding of customer service, restaurant operations, and food service principles.

Physical Demands

Physical requirements include verbal and written communication, multitasking, handling difficult customer situations, and lifting up to 10lbs.

• Ability to stand, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
• Vision capabilities for reading, color identification, and assessing surroundings.
