Crush Plant Manager Position Summary:
As Crush Plant Manager, you will provide leadership for all aspects of the soybean crush plant operations.
This position will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and productivity of all operations, equipment, and production of the facility.
As a self-directed, quality and safety-minded hands-on team leader with a strong mechanical aptitude, you will lead and work alongside our team to oversee the monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting of the process, testing product quality, inventory control, and ensuring safe and accurate loading and unloading of soybeans and finished products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
With strategic focus, leads and directs all aspects of the day-to-day operations in the plant including daily production, quality control, planning and logistics and project execution.
Oversee all plant activity and performance including, but not limited to, scheduling work shifts, reviewing and approving timesheets and time off requests, and addressing any performance and/or employee relations concerns.
Lead, coach, and mentor all Operators and Supervisors to achieve goals and ensure the safe and efficient operation, production, and continuous improvement of the plant.
First point of contact on a 24/7 basis to resolve any operational, logistical, or technical issues, including any mechanical breakdowns.
Will be on call half of the time.Maintains and adheres to quality standards in the plant that satisfy the requirements of ISO standards along with working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Assurance Technician.
Maintain designated sanitary schedule to plant standards.Advise the Plant Manager of any staffing requirements, operational issues or shortcomings that could affect the operations.
Work closely with the Human Resources Director to recruit, onboard and train new team members and provide performance management standards and execute any Learning and Development Management Programs.
Provide leadership that promotes customer service, teamwork, personal accountability, cooperation, and career development.Work closely with the Safety Director to monitor and validate the Workplace Safety ProgramDirect plant operational policies and procedures and leads plant safety initiatives and instills safety-based behaviors in constant pursuit of zero lost-time and incidents.
Is the primary contact with local authorities and ensures adherence to all legal and regulatory aspects of running the operation:OSHA, EPA, Department of Ag, etc
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelors Degree in a business management related discipline or equivalent work experience as a manager in a soybean processing setting is required.5+ years crush experience.
Ability to be on call 24/7 half of the times as the first point of contact for any operational issues that may arise.
Must have effective oral and written communication across different levels and departments.Desire and ability to contribute to a team environment across departments and shifts.
Strong knowledge of quality specifications using identification and data gathering skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeMust have good computer skills.
