• Excellent employment opportunity for a Senior Research Associate - Pre-Pivotal Biologics Development in the Oceanside, CA area.
• Seeking an experienced Scientist in the Cell Line Development (CLD) group at our Oceanside campus facility.
• 100% on-site (there is no work from home/no hybrid)
• Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM or 8:00AM-5:00PM type of business hours; occasional weekend hours (will have notice)
• Seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to design and execute experiments to support cell culture and clone development for our rapidly growing biologics pipeline.
• The successful candidate will also contribute to the overall strategy of new technology development projects.
• Participate in end-to-end Cell Line Development pipeline projects, including activities from vector design and construction to clonal cell lines ready for Master Cell Bank generation.
• Support CLD activities including clone selection, technology development, media development, process optimization, and process characterization studies.
• Support process improvements for increased speed and efficiency to generate highly productive, high quality, robust cell lines that meet all regulatory requirements with high quality documentation.
• Hands-on laboratory operations such as molecular biology, shake flask, bench scale bioreactor and novel culture platforms.
• Contribute to written technical reports, present in group meetings, and work cross-functionally to achieve common goals.

Experience:

• BS (or MS) with 5+ years of experience in a relevant Scientific discipline (Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering).
• Experience with mammalian cell culture (CHO) and automation/high-throughput technologies for mammalian cell line generation and process optimization preferred.
• Excellent communication, technical report writing, and presentation skills and aptitude for creative problem solving.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Experience in statistics and data analysis (e.g. JMP, Spotfire).
