Now hiring for Material Handler. Spherion of Rhode Island currently has Material Handler opportunities available to support our local, industry leading customer. Our Material Handler will be working a first shift with limited required OT.

The Material Handler will support our customers inloading and unloading trucks, moving materials to designated areas, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Mon thru Fri.

Promotional and training opportunitiesResponsibilities:Responsibilities include but not limited to:Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing materials.

Move materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
Verify quantities and inspect materials for damage or defects.
Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry and physical counts.
Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure efficient material flow.
Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts as needed.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to fulfill material requests and orders.
Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and organized.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.

Working hours:
6:00 AM - 3:30 PMSkills:Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
Basic math skills for counting and recording inventory.
Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for material handling.
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Education:
High SchoolExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Material Handler or similar role.
Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
