Job Description
- CVICU Registered Nurses (RN) provide specialized care to patients dealing with severe injuries or illnesses, particularly focusing on cardiac cases. - Responsibilities include monitoring patients for sudden changes in health and caring for those unable to care for themselves. - The CVICU unit often handles post-operative cardiac cases. - RN's may work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Critical Care unit of a hospital, with potential floating assignments to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Telemetry (Tele).Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiring a 4-year education or an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a 2-year program. - Prospective RNs must obtain either an ADN or BSN degree, and pass the NCLEX exam to qualify for licensure. - Active state licensure is mandatory for RN positions. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) certifications are frequently necessary.Per Diem Assignments Available. Recent experience and flexibility in schedule are essential requirements.
