- Execute end-to-end payroll processing activities accurately and timely for multiple entities.
- Review timekeeping records received from managers, identify any discrepancies, and collaborate with them to resolve issues.
- Review and verify wage data, deductions, and withholdings calculated by the HRIS system for accuracy and compliance.
- Process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and benefits.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports as required, including preparing check registers for management review and approval to ensure accuracy and providing reports tailored to the needs of other departments, such as finance, HR, or any other pertinent parties.
- Act as the primary administrator for 16OC benefit and 401k plans, managing eligibility, enrollments, deductions, audits, and providing assistance to participants by addressing questions and troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and provide assistance to employees as needed.
- Respond to wage verifications, garnishments, support orders, and other verification requests as required.
- Assist with various payroll-related audits, supporting HR and Finance as needed.
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including overtime and minimum wage requirements.
- Maintain system permissions and access for payroll and HRIS related functions.
- Provide assistance to employees and users with system troubleshooting and issue resolution, while also addressing internal system challenges as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll operations and recommend and implement enhancements to streamline payroll processes.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing
- Experience in the hospitality, food & beverage, or entertainment industry preferred
- Proficiency in payroll software/systems (e.g., Paycom, ADP Run)
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements with working knowledge of federal and multistate payroll laws (Illinois and New York)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and vendors
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
