    Position Description:
    Projects Inc. is seeking an experienced Production Buyer/Planner in support of Projects Aerospace and Power Generation customers. Projects Inc.

    is a manufacturer of complex small machined components in the Aerospace and Power Systems industries and has been in business for over fifty years.

    The qualified candidate will report directly to the Production Control Manager.

    The Buyer/Production Planner manages and oversees the production schedule and execution of the production plant manufacturing.

    Responsiblities include purchasing of materials and goods required, ensuring on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction, effectively utilizing production capacity to meet the production plan/schedule.


    Responsibilities include:
    Work with operations regarding adherence to schedule, schedule changes, material coordination, and production problems or constraints
    Purchase order entry per requisition via ERP system
    Schedule jobs per ERP system
    Procure materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need
    Establish delivery dates that ensure on-time delivery; collaborate with vendors to ensure timely material availability and anticipate delays
    Analyze work center loading and shop flow; determines potential work center overloads; collaborate with supervisors and respective manager for resolution
    Organize and implement production work timelines and goals to ensure customer fulfillment and facility capability
    Evaluate and ensure vendor materials, products, and service conform to company standards
    Review requisitions and purchase orders for conformance to company standards
    Evaluate vendor quotes, quality, and services to determine most desirable suppliers
    Communicate with suppliers concerning shipments, late deliveries and/or expediting deliveries
    Review backlog and maintain timely release of work orders to maintain an even flow of product through the manufacturing that allows production schedules to be achieved on time
    Identify and obtain the products and services that must be obtained externally as well as through inter-company transfer
    Assess long term customer demand and forecasts to ensure appropriate capacities to ensure customer commitments are met
    Coordinate and expedite requests
    Collaborate with all departments/locations to develop/adjust required inputs for detailed production planning
    Create Transfer Orders for raw materials required to support production schedules
    Process requests for scheduling engineering jobs
    Responsible for managing desired Finished Goods inventory levels
    Achieve weekly key performance indicators (Schedule Attainment, Efficiency & Aged Inventory)
    Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
    Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Requirements


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of education
    5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or production planning
    Prior experience working with ERP Systems (Epicor preferred)
    Computer proficient to organize and analyze data and to prepare technical presentations (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    Working knowledge and background in manufacturing programs, i.e., Quality Management Systems (QMS), AS9100, ISO9001, Continuous Process Improvement, Lean, etc.
    Demonstrated ability to be a change agent and engage others
    Self-motivated worker
    Strong project management skills

    Pay Range:
    Compensation commensurate with experience.
