    Description

    The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for collecting and recording payments from customers using skills in project management, organization and communication.

    The Accounts Receivable Clerk tracks payments, makes banking deposits and runs reports that document profits and losses along with other functions as required.

    Essential Functions

    • Processing, verifying and posting of incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures for ecommerce and wholesale divisions.
    • Researching and solving account discrepancies.
    • Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
    • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
    • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
    • Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up-to-date.
    • Working with the collections department to review accounts, client payments, credit history, and develop new or better repayment terms.
    • Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting.
    • Development and maintenance of Excel Spreadsheets
    • Generate reports detailing accounts balances and status for internal use.
    • Understand expense accounts and cost centers.
    • Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.).
    • Purchases office and other supplies.
    • Additional responsibilities as requested.
    Requirements

    • Must be detail oriented.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work independently or as a team member.
    • Convey a professional and positive image and attitude representing core company values and goals.
    • Understand and demonstrate the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Excel.
    • Hands-on knowledge of QuickBooks online.
    • Ability to work under pressure, multi-tasking to meet changing deadlines.
    • Excellent proofing skills producing error free documents.
    • Practices good telephone etiquette skills.
    • Must be responsible and reliable.
    Required Education and Experience

    • High School diploma or GED required.
    • QuickBooks online, 1+ year.
    • Excel intermediate or better.

    This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets and fax machines.
