    Job Overview

    As we chart our next phase of growth, we are seeking a Director of Merchandising who will develop high-level product and business strategies by focusing on how profitability, product positioning, and forecasted growth will continue to build the brand identity. This leader is responsible for ensuring the development, execution, and communication of category strategies that will meet or exceed financial goals. They must mobilize and lead successfully to create and develop partnerships with cross-functional partners (Design, Product Development, Production, Creative, and Commercial counterparts).

    Responsibilities and Duties
    • Lead the creation of the seasonal line architecture that supports financial targets and delivers a cohesive product/accessories collection that's on brand for our channels of distribution
    • Establish and maintain effective partnerships across the organization: Design, Sales, Planning, Marketing
    • Develop short and long-term product assortment strategies that align with the Brand vision, financial plans, channel, and customer needs
    • Present seasonal kickoff strategies and ensure cross-functional alignment on channel and market needs
    • Analyze category performance and drive category strategies to maximize growth
    • Create line architecture inclusive of SKU counts, SKU productivity, differentiation, and price tier that support organizational and channel goals; curate and recommend assortment for each channel to successfully meet SKU needs
    • Drive price architecture strategy on margin and value proposition across categories
    • Along with Design, deliver, and curate compelling product assortments that are brand-enhancing and customer-focused
    • Partner with Product and Planning teams to ensure inventory buys align with design and merchandising intent, and support all financial goals of the organization
    • Participate in key external customer touch points to ensure clear understanding of strategy, performance and product opportunities
    • Partner with Design and brand leadership to deliver key looks, volume drivers, and big Ideas for the seasons
    • Lead point on the appropriate GTM meetings, with clear next steps and action items, there after – always through a lens of clear communication
    • Actively participate in appropriate business reviews and in-season product decisions
    • Visit competition to stay abreast of market trends and apply learnings to current and future assortments
    Qualifications
    • 7+ years of related apparel experience in developing and executing merchandising strategies. Experience in Men's apparel preferred
    • 5+ years of dedicated leadership of mentoring and developing a team
    • Must have extensive experience in product development, and relevant market trend forecasting, with a deep knowledge of product design, fabrics, and colors
    • Strong financial acumen, knowledge of, and ability to impact financial outcomes
    • Strategic and analytical, clearly driven by conceptualizing future opportunities & developing strategic product & business initiatives
    • Ability to assess the business and offer insights and recommendations
    • A creative solution-oriented, out-of-the-box thinker with excellent communication skills
    • Superior level of accuracy, ability to lead with structure and discipline to drive business through a highly organized approach
    • Proven track record of working in an environment where collaboration with cross-functional partners is a key focus and speed is crucial
    • Some software knowledge in platforms like Toolio, PLM, Netsuite, NuOrder
    • Ability to instill confidence in cross-functional partners
