Job DescriptionHVAC Technician
The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They ensure that HVAC systems operate efficiently and effectively to maintain comfortable indoor environments.
Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, rooftop units, ductwork, and refrigeration equipment.
Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, changing filters, lubricating moving parts, and checking system components for wear and tear.
Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions, identifying issues with electrical components, controls, thermostats, motors, compressors, and refrigerant levels.
Repair or replace defective parts and components, such as motors, compressors, valves, thermostats, and switches.
Test HVAC systems to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and safety, and make necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
Perform routine inspections and tune-ups to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
Respond to service calls and emergency requests for HVAC repairs or maintenance.
Document all work performed, including repairs, replacements, inspections, and maintenance tasks, using electronic or paper-based systems.
Provide recommendations to customers regarding HVAC system upgrades, replacements, or improvements to enhance efficiency, comfort, and indoor air quality.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including handling refrigerants, electrical systems, and working at heights.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a vocational or technical training program in HVAC technology preferred.
Certification or licensure as an HVAC technician may be required by state or local regulations.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with HVAC tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
