    Avera is currently seeking a highly motivated Regional Director of Philanthropy with experience in major gift solicitation and program management.


    This position is located in Aberdeen, SD.

    Job Summary


    • The Regional Director of Philanthropy is accountable for leading philanthropy efforts and partners closely with benefactors, constituents and other partners to support an assigned region of Avera.
    • As a member of the Avera Philanthropy team, the Regional Director will develop relationships with capable constituents that result in multi-year philanthropic commitments.
    • The Regional Director's primary focus will be on leadership annual, major and legacy gifts, campaigns and initiatives.
    • The Regional Director will partner with members of Avera administration as well as Regional Council, campaign cabinets or assigned volunteers to lead philanthropic engagement and campaigns.
    • The Regional Director may serve as the staff liaison to an assigned regional council.
    • Moreover, the Regional Director is responsible for building enduring benefactor relationships that lead to philanthropic investment by managing a portfolio of capable prospects and existing supporters in identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship activities.
    Education and/or Experience


    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Minimum of three (3) years fundraising, with experience in major gift solicitation and program management preferred.
    Licensure/Certification/Registration


    • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
